Happy Anniversary FOR NISHA

A LITTLE KEEPSAKE FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY

Nisha,Another year of days I’d choose again.

Nisha, I tried to pick one favourite memory for our anniversary. I kept coming back to an evening with no electricity, two cups of chai, and a conversation neither of us wanted to end.

There’s a little more, just for you
a little world, with your name on it
01 THE LITTLE THINGS

It’s the little things
that stay.

A few thoughts, folded up for you. Touch one to open it.

01When the lights went outa little thought

We took our chai out to the balcony. The power came back before we’d finished talking, and I remember feeling quite happy to stay exactly where we were.

02The time we make for each othera little thought

There was nothing special on the calendar that evening. You made time to sit with me anyway. That’s one of the things I love most about our life together.

02 THE WORDS INSIDE

The evening I keep coming back to

The world can wait a little. This moment is yours.

Touch the seal. Open a little piece of my heart.

Happy Anniversary · Deepak

My Nisha,

I don’t remember what we were doing before the power cut. I remember taking our chai out to the balcony and thinking we’d just sit there until the lights came back. Then we got talking. By the time the room lit up behind us, neither of us felt any hurry to go inside.

That evening makes me think about what I’m really celebrating today. There’s the day we got together, and then there are all the days we’ve had since. So many of my favourite hours with you started with something as ordinary as putting the kettle on. I love that about us.

Happy anniversary, Nisha. Thank you for making time for me on days that belong to no occasion at all. I hope there’s another evening soon when we take our cups outside and forget why we ever meant to come back in.

Happy anniversary, Nisha. I’m glad I get to share these days with you.
